HOST HIGHLIGHT: THE HOMESCHOOL CONSORTIUM

Updated: May 21, 2022

We are a hybrid model co-op where 7th-12th grade students of all abilities and world views feel welcome.

  • Learning is fun! Even if we're learning tough material, we learn with multi-sensory engagement.

  • You can count on innovative lesson plans, not "out of the box" curriculum.

  • Everyone can succeed. Every course comes with options for families to personalize content or approach to best suit their needs.

  • Respect is paramount. Families who come to the Homeschool Consortium find that they are respected and welcomed by staff and other families.

This hybrid model co-op began 8 years ago so people of families from a wide range of worldviews and religions and all committed to learning to treat each other with respect could get academically rigorous classes and at the same time could count on accommodation for a wide range of learning differences and styles from auditory, to visual, to kinesthetic learners, to students with ADHD, Asperger's, dyslexia, dysgraphia, executive functioning deficits, and more.

This coming year:

  • In Comparative Religions we'll be visiting houses of worship around the city.

  • In Aerospace Science we'll do hands-on projects about planets and go on aviation and space field trips around the area.

  • In American Literature we'll do puppet shows and dress up and have fun with classical literature.

  • In American History there are opportunities to visit historic sites around the country.

Our Wednesday classes meet in Kennesaw, at Towne View Baptist Church. https://thehomeschoolconso.wixsite.com/website
